This role sits within the CEO Office and is intended to provide hands-on financial analysis, accounting and taxation related support to the CEO, working alongside the existing finance team. The role supports the CEO by reviewing accounts, analysing tax positions, and preparing financial information and reports for investors and senior stakeholders. It is a practical, execution-focused role, requiring strong accounting judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to convert financial data into clear, structured outputs for leadership use. The vacancy is a mix of accounting and statutory support and financial analytical work, and our client is looking for someone with this relevant experience, also with a CA qualification. This an urgent vacancy, and preference will be given to candidates who are able to start immediately or only have a 1 month notice period. Candidates won’t be considered with a 2 month notice period. Description:
- Support statutory accounting processes in line with IFRS from an analytical and review perspective
- Assist with year-end close activities through review, analysis, and preparation of supporting schedules
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and logical integrity of balance sheet and P&L reconciliations provided for review
- Prepare and finalise VAT and Corporate Tax computations and outputs
- Analyse tax positions, movements, and implications for profitability, cash flow, and investor reporting
- Prepare and finalise tax-related schedules, summaries, and analytical notes for internal and external stakeholder use
- Review management accounts and financial statements prepared by the Finance team, applying a strong analytical and accounting lens
- Perform detailed analysis of financial performance, trends, margins, cost drivers, and variances across group entities
- Identify key movements, anomalies, risks, and performance drivers within the accounts and escalate insights appropriately
- Support the CEO with interpretation of financial results and implications for business performance.
- Prepare analytical financial summaries, schedules, dashboards, and commentary for leadership review
- Build and maintain financial models to support business decisions, planning discussions, and investor queries
- Conduct scenario analysis, sensitivity testing, and impact assessments across key financial variables
- Support evaluation of financial outcomes related to growth initiatives, cost pressures, and structural changes
- Assist with preparation of financial information and reports for investors and lenders
- Support development of investor presentations, financial packs, and explanatory notes
- Respond to ad-hoc financial and analytical queries from the CEO relating to performance, tax, structure, or forecasts
- Work closely with the Finance team to obtain accurate and timely financial data
- Liaise with external advisors as required for tax or reporting-related matters
- Provide additional analytical and accounting capacity to support CEO priorities
Criteria:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) is essential
- Strong grounding in accounting, financial analysis, and reporting
- Working knowledge of VAT and Corporate Tax
- Experience supporting senior leadership or investor reporting preferred
- Strong accounting and analytical capability
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Clear, structured communication of financial information
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Professional judgement and discretion when handling sensitive information
- Clear communication and a good standard of spoken English
- Practical, reliable, and execution oriented
- Comfortable working directly with senior leadership
- Calm and dependable under time pressure
- A team player
- Trustworthy and commercially aware
